2. Chulucanas

I have always been interested in fine art pottery from all over the world, especially, that which is rich in history. That's why when I came across these amazing pottery pieces, I wanted to share them with you. The feel and touch of this pottery is amazing. Some of the pottery is from the town of Chulucanas located in northwest Peru, a long dusty ride from Lima. I am also bringing you beautiful pieces from the Mata Ortiz region of northern Mexico. These hand-made pots are beautifully crafted using the traditional methods developed by the people of the Paquimé Pueblos over 1000 years ago. Unlike some other pueblo pottery, each piece is hand-formed, hand-burnished, hand-decorated using local materials perserving the integrity of the pottery and the culture of that area. Enjoy!
